LETTER: City planning leaves a lot to be desired May 12, 2009
"Power Broker; Robert Moses and the Fall of New York by Robert Caro" is THE cook book on how to steamroll elected officials to GET THINGS DONE. It also paints Robert Moses as the poster boy for myopic, egocentric urban planning. Though his vision of parks and parkways was laudable in 1924 when he started, his vision of the needs of New York, especially Long Island was totally out of touch with the needs of the average citizens.
