Immigration and Political Suicide Oct 7, 2009
Conservative shock radio, on its frightening fringes, can be overtly racist, referring to Mexican immigrants as "leeches," "the world's lowest primitives" and diseased carriers of the "fajita flu" who may "wipe their behinds with their hands." Pat Buchanan sells books with this title: "State of Emergency: The Third World Invasion and Conquest of America.". As Martinez points out, many Republicans who oppose his pro-immigration views are not divisive or inflammatory. (Townhall.com)

I saw Pat Buchanan on MSNBC s Chris Matthews the other night, laughing off Bill Clinton s Mr. Buchanan claimed Bill Kristol, Charles Krauthammer, Karl Rove, et al, couldn t organize a softball game, much less hatch the kind of sturm und drang necessary to upend a presidential career. What he did not acknowledge is that while the blogosphere had yet to find its legs, so to speak, when the Clintons were whining about the VRWC in 1998, it is now a heat-seeking political weapon. New Generation of Churchill Critics Sep 10, 2009
On Sept. 1, the distinguished debating organization Intelligence Squared teamed up with the London Evening Standard to afford America's most famous Churchill critic, Pat Buchanan, the opportunity to argue that Churchill was "more of a liability than an asset to the free world." Actually, if I have read Buchanan accurately, he holds Churchill responsible for the war. As he writes on his Web site, "Hitler wanted to end the war in 1940." Churchill and Roosevelt's policy of unconditional surrender... (Townhall.com)

First, it s simply wrong to say Novak "pioneered" noisy cable-news debate style: Pat Buchanan was the first co-host of "Crossfire." He had first attracted major American attention in 1991 with a mean-spirited, unjustified accusation of Pat Buchanan practicing sly anti-Semitism.
