This year's One Read book, "The Air We Breathe," by Andrea Barrett, is one which event organizers say should lead to some interesting discussions with links to current hot topics -- primarily questions regarding health care and epidemics. "The Air We Breathe" centers around a group of tuberculosis patients, scientists and caregivers at a sanitarium in the Adirondacks in 1916, isolated from the rest of America as the country prepares to enter World War I.. The novel by Andrea Barrett was announced as the top vote recipient and winner after a three-week vote off with Jhumpa Lahiris Unaccustomed Earth. Voting began Monday on two books The Air We Breathe by Andrea Barrett and Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri to narrow the field to one selection that will serve to unite the Daniel Boone Regional Library community.
