I haven t actually read that book because I feared I just couldn t take it - just as I feared I couldn t take Alice Sebold s best-selling, soon-to-be-movie The Lovely Bones (narrated by a dead girl who was raped and murdered) and Wally Lamb s Oprah-picked, best-selling She s Come Undone (narrated by a hugely obese, compulsive eater).
